Trusting Yourself. Eifel Retreat. Spring 2009

Sat 13 Mar 2010

Tobias Roeder prepared this transcript of the first evening of the Eifel retreat. "Think of how seaweed moves with the ocean waves tumbling and turning it. Seaweed doesn’t get knotted, because it just keeps moving in the currents."

"From the dzogchen point of view trust begins with the experience of being completely open, completely empty. We don’t exist as a fixed substance; there is no particular way in which we should live; there are now formal guidelines of rules and regulations. But when we see the open potentiality it means moment by moment that we don’t close down; we don’t take on any rigidity, any basis in memory or habit. The openness allows an unimpeded movement into the world of connection with other people."
